The Unitarian Church of Transylvania has over 60,000 members and is the birthplace of Unitarianism with many churches over 400 years old! Theologian Francis David convinced the Hungarian Royal Court to enact the Edict of Torda in 1568 which established Unitarianism and allowed congregants to freely elect their preachers and represented the first expression of religious freedom in Christian Europe. How can a better understanding of our Unitarian ancestors guide us boldly into the future with Love and Justice at the center of all we do?
